Founder and Principal

Shirley provides research and strategy, communications, and experience design consulting to help organizations accelerate their success. Her passion and talent lie in helping organizations accelerate through times of change by clarifying their strategy, aligning their organizations, and delivering experiences that delight customers and deliver results. She’s a highly collaborative partner who brings to every challenge deep curiosity, a strategic mind, and a passion for the possible.

Prior to launching Sequoia Strategy, Shirley led all aspects of marketing, brand strategy, and business planning for leading companies, including HP, where her roles included guiding brand and communications strategy for HP’s $12B consumer business and founding an innovation lab focused on creating better experiences with the HP brand. As a consultant, she’s worked side-by-side with leadership teams at a range of companies, from Fortune 100 powerhouses to bold startups. She’s particularly skilled at translating big company best practices into practical approaches that meet the needs of fast-growing companies.

Shirley holds a BA in International Relations from the University of California, Davis, and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
